There had previously been reports that the Philadelphia Eagles would approach inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans about taking a potential pay cut as they prepare for free agency, but that may not be the case after all.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News, Ryans “isn’t going anywhere.”

The cap number for Ryans in 2014 is set to be  $6.9 million, but with the Eagles nearly $10 million under the projected salary cap they will not need to clear the extra space and Ryans can remain with the team at his current salary.

Of course, Philadelphia could end up looking to make a splash and still need the space, in which case Ryans may still need to take a pay cut.

That said, he very much remains in their future plans and you can expect to see Ryans taking the field at Lincoln Financial Field as a member of the Eagles next season.
