The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly received phone calls regarding potential trade scenarios for Darrelle Revis, but the Tampa Bay Tribune does not believe the Bucs are in the market to trade their defensive back.

Roy Cummings spoke with head coach Lovie Smith and doesn’t believe Tampa is interested in moving the veteran.

"Hate to ruin everybody’s fun re: possible D. Revis trade but based on my conversations with Lovie Smith, I dont’ see it happening. Said Lovie: “We’re primarily going to be a man team. Whether we win or lose is going to be based on how we play man coverage.”"

Revis isn’t very good in zone coverage and seems to play best in a man-on-man scenario (he got the Revis Island nickname for a reason) which should benefit the corner moving forward.

The reputation of Revis has fallen off in recent years given his rash of injuries, but when it comes to man-on-man coverage, there aren’t many better in the NFL and the Buccaneers seem plenty aware of that.
