The NBA isn’t too keen on players losing their cool during games in front of a live audience, and they bring the hammer down because of it. David Stern may be gone, but Adam Silver has Stern’s level of tolerance for hissy fits that turn ugly during games.

DeMarcus Cousins had a hissy fit against the Houston Rockets the other night and he’s not going to have to sit out a game and will be lighter in the wallet because of it. According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the NBA has suspended Cousins one game and fined him $20,000 for getting violent and verbally abusive against the Rockets.

Cousins is no stranger to getting into trouble in the NBA as he’s been suspended and fined plenty of times in his career so far. It’s one of the question marks that still hangs over his head, as his character has been called into question numerous times.

Still, he seems to be maturing and let’s hope this most recent outburst is the last one for a long time.
