Philadelphia Eagles sign Riley Cooper to five-year, $25M contract
By Josh Hill
Less than year ago, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper was embroiled in a scandal after he used very poor choice of words at a country music concert and found himself labeled a racist. After earning back the respect of his teammates, Cooper went on to have a career year and is now the recipient of a massive five-year contract from the Philadelphia Eagles.
It was reported in the late night hours that Cooper’s deal was for four years, but both Ian Rapoport from NFL Network and Adam Schefter from ESPN are reporting that the deal is over five years and worth $25 million.
It was quite the whirlwind season for Cooper who had a career year in receiving and was instrumental in Nick Foles own career year. It was a rough start to the year for Cooper, but he’s entering his 2014 campaign $25 million richer than he did last year.
