NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls’ Tom Thibodeau ‘not going anywhere’
There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Chicago Bulls’ head coach Tom Thibodeau.
With the New York Knick’s job potentially coming open, a defensive minded coach like Thibodeau could be exactly what they need. Plus, Thibodeau is from nearby Connecticut.
The Bulls’ Vice President of Basketball Operations, former Bulls’ player John Paxson, went on the radio to dispel the rumors.
“He is not going anywhere. … I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that our team is the best prepared in the NBA with Tom as our head coach,’’ Paxson told WGWG-FM 87.7 via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Thibodeau believes all of the speculation is nothing more than a waste of time.
“Nothing needs to be said,’’ Thibodeau said of Paxson’s comments. “To me it’s like I see it. I talk to Jerry [Reinsdorf], I see John, I see [general manager] Gar [Forman], we talk all the time, so it’s just something that keeps coming up, and no matter how you answer it will keep coming up, so I don’t waste any time with that.’’
Thibodeau is 188-99 in just under four seasons with the Bulls.
