Clinching the ACC regular season championship wasn’t going to be an easy task for head coach Tony Bennett and the Virginia Cavaliers. They were pitted against the team that, just over a week ago, was considered the most dominant team in the country in the Syracuse Orange.

Still though, through it all, the Cavaliers and Coach Bennett were able to walk away from it all with that ACC Championship as they handed the Orange their third loss in their last four games, and in dominant fashion in the second half, 75-56.

It didn’t look anything near easy in the first half for Virginia as they went into the locker room down 28-27 following the first 20 minutes of action.

In the second half, though, UVA came out and they were determined to grab themselves that title as they outscored the once-dominant Orange by an eye-popping 48-28.

Malcolm Brogdon led the champs in this one, dropping in 19 points and grabbing five rebounds with five assists as he and his team made history.

Now it’s time to see if they can replicate this performance in the always crucial ACC Tournament.
