NFL Rumors: New York Jets to be in on Michael Vick

The New York Jets seemed content with Geno Smith when the 2013 started – but that confidence quickly wained as Smith looked terrible during his rookie season.

Granted, yes, it was his freshman campaign and improvement is likely but the Jets simply can’t afford to wait on Smith, which is why they’re expected to be in on free agent quarterback Michael Vick – this according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter who made the comments on the Ross Tucker Podcast.

“I don’t expect Michael Vick to be back in Philadelphia,” said Schefter. “And then he’s gonna have to decide what’s the best circumstance for him moving forward. I think the Jets will be in play. I definitely think the Jets will have some level of interest in Michael Vick. Definitely.”

You get that, folks? Definitely.

Of course, the Jets aren’t going to be the only team with interest in Vick as others – like the Oakland Raiders – are expected to show interest in the free agent signal caller as well.

Vick has given no indication as to where he’d like to play.

OH Please NO! The very last thing the Jets need is another turn over machine at the QB position! Then there are the injuries, Vick has never been able to stay on the field. I think he had 1 full 16 game season in his career and that was in his earlier years. He brings a knowledge of Mornhering’s system, but the last two years with the system he spent mostly injured an his interception rate skyrocketed. Seriously, this will be a terrible move in my opinion.

I wish people would know stats before speaking. I got a question. Who’s the last offensive lineman to make the pro bowl from a Vick team?

      • Paul Newbold

He did lack an offensive line inPhilly, without a doubt The stats, the last full season Vick played was 2006. It is his only full 16 game season. In 2011 he threw 18 TD’s with 16 interceptions. 2012 the threw 12 TD’s with 10 interceptions. Last year he played 7 games threw 5 TD’s to go along with 3 interceptions. He’s played a total of 30 games over the past three years, 35 TD’s and 27 interceptions. If Geno Smith looses the competition or struggles badly, I don’t want our back up to carry that kind of baggage!

So we should sign Vick because the rest of them are injury pronged also? Every QB has their share of injuries, but Vick’s career has been a train wreck! One, count them, one complete season in his 11 yr career! Besides he slowed noticeably, he’s 33 yrs old, and past his prime. I just don’t see any benefit in signing him. With a question mark for a starter going in, I’ much have a healthy, dependable back up on our roster!

Well this proves my point that your feelings are personal. There is no such thing as a reliable backup. I just prove that to you. You just don’t like Vick he has one of the strongest arms in the league. He still top 5 FASTEST QB. ARE U A DOG LOVER?

Exactly no response I’m so happy your opinion doesn’t matter or count.
