This day couldn’t come fast enough for Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington, who appeared to be over the idea of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson going through a Spring practice with the club.

The Super Bowl champion was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2010, but was not placed on their 40-man roster which allowed the Rangers to pick him up during the 2013 Rule-5 Draft.

Fresh off his Super Bowl victory, the Rangers invited Wilson to take part in Spring Training – an invite which he accepted.

Wilson (probably due to the Seahawks) wasn’t/isn’t expected to take any hacks in the cage, but he did participate in some infield drills which were captured by the Star Telegram (Wilson is the second player to take the grounder):

Wilson was also seen taking throws from shortstop:

In addition to video, some media outlets grabbed a few early pictures of Russell fielding grounders.

Guess the whole ‘media attention’ thing worked out pretty well.

Looking like Super Bowl media day part deuce.
