Former NFL player Clinton Portis describes wild ride to airport with elderly driver

To say Clinton Portis is a unique individual would be an understatement.

Maybe that’s why so many strange things happen to the former NFL running back.

Back in December, Portis was pulled over mid-radio interview and continued to conduct the interview while talking to the police officer, even asking him if he wanted to appear on the radio show. Now Portis is back again, this time describing quite a strange encounter with a car service.

Portis was (for whatever reason) in Charlotte recently and requested a ‘VIP’ car service to the airport. Nothing out of the ordinary there. But what was out of the ordinary? The car (and driver) that showed up. According to Portis, a 76-year-old woman in a 1999 Honda Civic arrived to pick him up, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.

The former NFL documented the hilarity on Twitter (and later to TMZ) where he posted photos of two baby seats in the back and the driver, who wouldn’t stop eating a bucket of fried chicken. Even worse? She had to ask Portis for directions to the airport.

“I put my bag on the baby seat and I got in the front. The lady was eating Bojangles [chicken]. I said ‘this gotta be a prank.”

It was no prank. This chicken-chowing chauffeur then asked Portis if HE knew the way to the airport. Not a good sign.

“We were at a red light and she punched the gas. We spun out. I couldn’t stop laughing.”

Understandably, the former Miami Hurricane thought it was a joke but it wasn’t.
