When Jimmer Fredette hit the open market last week after the Sacramento Kings officially bought him out, there were many that pegged him as going to the Utah Jazz. The reasons for Jimmer being connected to the Jazz has little to do with basketball and more to do with his alma mater being in-state as well as the fact that Fredette is Mormon and Utah is known for it’s Mormon population.

But while some were pegging Fredette to the Jazz, the team never showed an interest in him. According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the Jazz never showed a real interest in signing Fredette.

"The Jazz did not seriously consider pursuing ex-Brigham Young star guard Jimmer Fredette prior to his signing with Chicago, a source told Yahoo Sports."

The main reason for the Jazz not pursuing Fredette had less to do with the Jazz not wanting him and more to do with the fact that they simply don’t have any room on the roster to sign him if they wanted to.
