The New Orleans Saints are currently throwing couch cushions across the room and lifting up the carpet in an attempt to find any sort of change they can in order to pay Jimmy Graham the contract he wants. A long-term deal with Graham is nowhere near complete it seems, but the ramifications on the salary cap are being felt across the roster.

Roman Harper and Will Smith were early veteran cuts thanks to the purge and wide receiver Lance Moore has officially been added to that list. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Moore has been officially released by the Saints and is now a free agent.

The move isn’t that surprising since Moore took to Twitter this morning to bid farewell to Saints fans who watched him over the last nine years.

With almost a decade under his belt in New Orleans, Moore will likely find work in free agency but he won’t be a top target and he may never achieve the success he did while with Drew Brees.
