NFL teams looking for a reliable, proven tight end in the Free Agent market could receive some help on Saturday as Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley will have his spinal cord scans examined by a neurosurgeon, according to Ian Rapoport.

Finley had his 2013 season cut short after a vicious hit, leaving some to wonder whether or not he would even play again. ESPN even did a special segment on the matter and how Finley’s young son had even asked him not to play again.

Still, though, if Finley gets a clean bill of health on Saturday, you can expect a lot of teams to come calling for someone who is still one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the league–and that includes the possibility of the Packers re-signing him.

Other rumored teams that could have interest are the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and even possibly the Detroit Lions, giving Matthew Stafford another weapon to play with in that offense.

But, everything hinges on what happens Saturday.
