One of Drew Brees’ favorite indoor receiving targets over the years has been the pint sized Lance Moore, who struggled to find success on the road but flourished inside of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

But while he turned in nine great years with the Saints and helped them win a Super Bowl, his tenure has come to an end and the Saints will be releasing Moore as part of their salary cap purge. Moore tweeted out to his followers on Friday that he had enjoyed his time in New Orleans which implies that said time has run out.

Moore will likely latch on elsewhere but he’s never been a No. 1 target. He’ll find work in the slot somewhere but his best years are behind him and they may have been exclusively tethered to indoor football. This means a team like the Vikings, Falcons or Colts could reach out but all that is certain now is that Moore’s career in New Orleans is over.
