The Kansas City Chiefs were likely going to be getting rid of offensive tackle Branden Albert this offseason and the time has come for Albert to find a new team. While he won’t be back with the Chiefs in 2014, he’ll be finding work somewhere — rather quickly most likely — and one of the first teams lined up to take a shot at him are the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Cardinals beat writer Kent Somers, the top two free agent targets for the Cardinals this offseason look to be Albert and St. Louis Rams lineman Rodger Saffold.

The Cardinals may be able to get both and place them on the line, as Saffold can play the guard position. This would mean that the Arizona line would be vastly improved over what it was in 2013 and that team was almost playoff bound despite struggles up front.

Adding Albert is the priority but Saffold may be more than just a consolation prize — he may end up being a compliment.
