Trying to follow what the New York Jets are thinking when it comes to the tight end position is tricky. They re-signed tight end Jeff Cumberland to a three-year deal ahead of the tampering window and are still looking for a second tight end, this is where things get screwy.

There was a report that they were going after the best at the position.

Now they’re also reportedly “high” on tight end Zach Sudfeld’s potential.

That is the same line they used on tight end Cumberland.

From Manish Mehta of the  New York Daily News:

"The organization is bullish on Cumberland’s ability to take that next step after flashes in his first four seasons."

Looks like it is about to become a crowded position for the Jets.
