It is no secret that the Dallas Cowboys will need to address their defensive line during the offseason, and one pending free agent appears to have interest in playing for his his hometown team.

Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton, who missed last season with a torn ACL, reportedly would like to play for the Cowboys if given the opportunity according to his agent.

“Henry [Melton] is from Dallas, he played for Rod Marinelli, obviously there would be interest from Henry’s side,” Melton’s agent said, via WalterFootball.com, “but who knows at this point?”

The Cowboys have very little room under the salary cap to work with so they may not be able to sign a player of Melton’s caliber, but if teams are scared off by the health of his knee then perhaps the team could get Melton on a discounted deal and make everyone happy.

If the team is unable to land a free agent at the position, then expect them to add defensive line help early and often in May’s draft.
