With NFL free agency right around the corner, wild speculation and crazy rumors are going to start flying and that means the inevitable impossible trade rumors will be thrown around. Already we’re starting to hear the rumors getting churned out but thankfully there some among us already weeding out the bad rumors and setting the record straight.

One such rumor involves the Kansas City Chiefs attempting a trade to acquire former Andy Reid draft pick DeSean Jackson. While the trade in theory makes sense — as the Chiefs need a guy like Jackson and Eagles apparently don’t — Adam Teicher from ESPN.com says we shouldn’t believe everything we hear.

"There’s no doubt Chiefs coach Andy Reid would like to bring Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson to Kansas City. Jackson had some big seasons playing for Reid when the two were together with the Eagles. But don’t look for a trade to happen for a number of reasons, the first being that Jackson is due $10.5 million this season. The Chiefs can’t afford that."

Among the other reasons why the trade will never happen is the Eagles apparent lack in interest when it comes to moving Jackson — at least now — and the Chiefs lack of assets to give up. There are options on the table for the Chiefs, many of which are more realistic than trading for Jackson.
