NFL Rumors: Kansas City Chiefs to attempt DeSean Jackson trade?

With NFL free agency right around the corner, wild speculation and crazy rumors are going to start flying and that means the inevitable impossible trade rumors will be thrown around. Already we’re starting to hear the rumors getting churned out but thankfully there some among us already weeding out the bad rumors and setting the record straight.

One such rumor involves the Kansas City Chiefs attempting a trade to acquire former Andy Reid draft pick DeSean Jackson. While the trade in theory makes sense — as the Chiefs need a guy like Jackson and Eagles apparently don’t — Adam Teicher from says we shouldn’t believe everything we hear.

There’s no doubt Chiefs coach Andy Reid would like to bring Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson to Kansas City. Jackson had some big seasons playing for Reid when the two were together with the Eagles. But don’t look for a trade to happen for a number of reasons, the first being that Jackson is due $10.5 million this season. The Chiefs can’t afford that.

Among the other reasons why the trade will never happen is the Eagles apparent lack in interest when it comes to moving Jackson — at least now — and the Chiefs lack of assets to give up. There are options on the table for the Chiefs, many of which are more realistic than trading for Jackson.

If the Eagles had interest in Albert then that would have made some sense working out a deal.

Trade Hali for Jackson. We move a player that is starting his decend for a player that is in the rise. Save cap space in the process as Hali is around $12 million I believe.

No you don’t trade Hali he is a player that the chiefs will need to make the run for the Super Bowl

yeah there has to be another way, besides what kind of a locker room guy is he?

Now I’m not saying lets do it, in just saying that is the kind of trade that could make it happen. I will say though, Hali is on his decend. Last year, when Houston went out, Hali was ineffective. He was dinged up several times that keep him out of games. He is breaking down. He has one, maybe 2 productive years left? Why not use that to benefit our team?

Actually Ronald i do not believe Tamba will be the deciding factor if we get to and win a super-bowl. Now yes he will be a major asset and it would be difficult to replace him but he is a one trick kind of guy, rush as hard and as fast around the tackles and try to get position and get the QB. Now if we drafted someone that was like Houston in Tamba’s spot this year we would be set. Besides he is only getting around 9-12 sacks a year. we would need some production like Ware and Mathis where they are getting about 20 a season. that would be a guy that we would need to make a super-bowl run.
