The New Orleans Saints are looking for ways to find cash to give Jimmy Graham a new contract, and part of that penny pinching means purging veteran talent from the roster. With Roman Harper, Will Smith, Lance Moore and Darren Sproles all gone, it looks like Pierre Thomas is next on the list of player to be released.

It has since been refuted that Jenkins’ tweet was accurate, but there is still the belief that Thomas will be gone before the 2014 season roles around. He’s not as effective as he could be but that doesn’t mean he won’t latch on elsewhere. It also doesn’t mean he for sure won’t be back, but the indications seem to suggest otherwise.

Thomas hasn’t officially been cut yet, but that time may be coming soon as free agency is just days away and the Saints need to find cash fast to give to Jimmy Graham.
