It appears that the market for offensive tackle Rodger Saffold is heating up and he could be signed quickly after the free agent market officially opens on Tuesday afternoon.

Teams are free to negotiate leading up to Tuesday, and the Oakland Raiders are reportedly making progress with Saffold.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the Raiders are expected to sign Saffold “for roughly $8 million per year.” That means that the team has likely come to terms with the idea that free agent offensive tackle Jared Veldheer will be leaving.

Veldheer is believed to be leaning towards the Arizona Cardinals.

As for Saffold, he is capable of playing both offensive tackle and guard, so his versatile could be a huge plus to the Raiders who desperately need as much talent as possible.
