The Dallas Cowboys consistently have one of the worst salary cap situations in the NFL, but that isn’t expected to stop them from being active players on the free agent market once it opens on Tuesday.

According to the Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Cowboys will be “active in free agency” but “they plan to take their time and will be bargain-conscious.”

With so many needs on the roster, the Cowboys will have to bring in as many new faces as possible as they look to turn their fortunes around. The “bargain-conscious” part will come by waiting for the wild spending spree to take place before being a part of the second wave of free agency after the first few days pass.

One talented player specifically mentioned is free agent defensive tackle Henry Melton, who is one of the top players at his position but could be available for cheap after coming off of knee surgery.
