The New York Jets recently released cornerback Antonio Cromartie to free up some cap space, so now they will be able to target some of the available free agents on the open market to boost their defensive backfield.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, one of the top free agent safeties, T.J. Ward, is drawing interest from the Jets.

With so much focus on improving their secondary, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the Jets would be gauging the market on Ward.
Of course, he is going to be a highly sought after free agent so he could end up being priced out of the Jets spending range.
