After spending the first nine years of his career with the Denver Broncos, linebacker D.J. Williams and the Broncos parted ways last year.

Williams decided to join the Chicago Bears and quickly became the starter at middle linebacker, replacing the retired Brian Urlacher.

Unfortunately for Williams and the Bears, he last just six games before suffering a ruptured left pectoral.

The Bears must have like what they saw out of Williams in those six games because they re-signed the 10 year veteran on Tuesday.

Bringing Williams back on a one-year deal has little risk, even if his age or injuries catch up to him.

The 31-year old Williams was the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Broncos.

In his career, he has 851 tackles, 22.5 sacks and 10 interceptions. Last season, he had 27 tackles and 2.0 sacks.
