With the NFL free agency period officially set to begin in a few hours, teams are wrapping up loose ends and getting some of their middle-tier free agents locked up before teams can swoop in and steal them away at a bargain price.

For Cincinnati Bengals kick returner/wide receiver Brandon Tate, that meant getting locked up to a new deal, according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports.

Tate is not a player that will make an impact on the offensive side of the ball, but he is still a valuable player on special teams.
