Right after Free Agency officially opened, it was announced that Byrd was flying out to visit with the team and, apparently, they hit it off right off the bat as the two came to a six-year agreement nearly instantly.
And then the #Saints announce they signed Jairus Byrd to a six-year deal. Wow wow wow.

The move isn’t all the surprising, given the fact that the team lost long-time safety Malcolm Jenkins earlier in the day to the Philadelphia Eagles. All that is surprising is the fact that it was rumored the Saints didn’t have that much money to spend.
Now, they have the man to plug into the void left by Jenkins, and at just 26-years-old, they could have a cornerstone for their secondary for the next few years.
