NFL Rumors: Darren McFadden resigns with Oakland Raiders
Darren McFadden has battled injuries and inconsistency during his time with the Oakland Raiders, but it appears he will get one more year with the Raiders, according to Fallon Smith to make an attempt to live up to the billing of the former No. 4 overall pick.
The deal is worth $4 million according to Adam Schefter. McFadden was limited to 10 games and seven starts last season when he rushed for only 379 yards and five touchdowns and has only one season with at least 1,000 rushing yards since leaving the Arkansas Razorbacks. He has never played more than 13 games in his six-year NFL career and to this point as been a massive bust.
The Raiders have a surplus of salary cap space to make more additions as free agency kicks off today, but this contract is one last-ditched effort to try and get something out of McFadden as he attempts to shed the bust label and return to the form he showed in 2010 when he started 13 games and ran for 1,157 yards and scored seven touchdowns, both career-highs.
