The Detroit Lions reportedly had interest in Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones but it appears that their interest has evaporated. But where the Lions have lost interest, the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and New York Giants have gained interest.

According to Tom Pauline, those three teams plus an additional mystery team are in the running to sign Jones when free agency opens.

That mystery could be the Packers, as they’ve expressed at least some interest in bringing Jones back. The other three teams with interest though will likely drive the price up too high for the Packers to feel good about paying, which means Jones is likely on his way to a new team in 2014.

Who that team will be is still not known, but we’re starting to get a good idea.
