The San Francisco 49ers aren’t a team that usually makes a splash in the offseason but when they make moves they tend to always be interesting. They also seem to have a bit of a history with the Kansas City Chiefs and that could extend to another offseason thanks to their reported interest in one former Chiefs player.

According to Bill Williamson from ESPN, the Niners could show some interest in former Chiefs return man and all-around threat Dexter McCluster if the price is right.

The key there is if the price is right, as there’s a chance it won’t be. Teams like the Eagles, Redskins and Giants have been linked to possible interest in McCluster and that could drive the price up.

Still, the Niners like speed and McCluster could give them a weapon to counteract the damage the Seahawks will do to them with Percy Harvin and that may cause them to open up the checkbook a little more than they normally would.
