On Wednesday, the Baltimore Ravens announced that they had re-signed free agent wide receiver Jacoby Jones., which was actually a bit surprising. It was surprising because, earlier in the day, Jones actually took a visit to the New York Giants in what some thought might have been a leverage ploy. But as Ian Rapoport points out, it actually wasn’t as Jones turned down more money to remain in Baltimore in the end.
Thought Jacoby Jones visiting the Giants today was a leverage play. Turns out, he turned down more money elsewhere to stay in Baltimore

The Ravens and Jones ended up agreeing to a four-year deal worth $14 million, although there’s no word yet on what it was that the Giants, nor anyone else for that matter, were offering for the services of one of the most versatile skilled players in the game today.
It was essential to the Ravens to get Jones back, as last season, he was one of the few players keeping the team afloat as they struggled to defend their Super Bowl title.
