Sure, there are whispers in your ear all the time if you’re an NFL player – but that doesn’t make confirming news any easier to swallow.

That’s what happened to New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles on Tuesday night when he found out on social media that he would not be released, but rather traded due to his ‘high demand’.

That didn’t sit well with Sproles who seeming genuinely shocked on his Twitter account.

Now having a few hours to digest the news, Sproles has went from shocked to irritated and has all but demanded the New Orleans Saints release him.

"Sick of finding out his own news on twitter, @DarrenSproles takes control of his deal. He told @JosinaAnderson: “I want to get released.”"

It’s an understandable sentiment from Sproles as the lats thing he wants is to be traded to a bad situation when a release gives him complete freedom.

Of course, there’s little reason for the Saints to make such a move as it doesn’t benefit the franchise moving forward.
