The New Orleans Saints had plans to release running back Darren Sproles, but an influx in interest halted that move and now the Saints are attempting to trade their speedy running back.

The news hasn’t sat well with Sproles who has all but requested the Saints release him so he can pick his own destination.

That of course serves no benefit to the Saints and it appears New Orleans will attempt to trade Sproles if they’re able to do so. One potential landing spot? The Baltimore Ravens.

Apparently unhappy with the production of Ray Rice (not to mention his off-field issue), a Sproles trade has seemingly interested the Ravens front office.

"If #Saints are able to work a deal for Darren Sproles keep an eye on #Ravens as a possible trade partner, per source."

There’s no mention of what would be going back to New Orleans in such a move, though I can’t imagine it’ll be anything outside of a lower level draft pick as the Saints can’t really afford to add more salary (be it a player or mid-round draft selection).
