Many Raiders fans are waking up this morning hoping that the news they heard yesterday about Oakland choosing Darren McFadden over Rashad Jennings was all just a bad dream. McFadden’s one-year return to the Raiders is a reality though and we’re starting to learn more and more about the whole situation.

According to Jerry McDonald from the Contra Costa Times, McFadden actually had bigger contract offers on the table but rejected them in favor of returning to the Raiders for another season.

"“We did have real interest from four or five other teams — one offered more money,” said Ian Greengross, McFadden’s agent. “Darren wanted to stay a Raider. He felt like he still had something to prove in silver and black.”"

It’s unclear who the team that offered him more money was, as it could have possibly been the Cincinnati Bengals. Either way, McFadden is on his way back to Oakland and while fans may be rolling their eyes over the move, it’s clear that the running back had no intentions of leaving.
