Just a few years ago, if free agent wide receiver Hakeem Nicks hit the open market, he would have had no problem getting a huge deal from a team in need of a wide receiver.
However, because of injuries and a lack of production, Nicks’ free agency is essentially just getting started.
Nicks will visit the Indianapolis Colts, a team that is looking to give their quarterback, Andrew Luck, as many weapons as possible.
He reportedly had interest from the Carolina Panthers, which would make sense. They lost Ted Ginn to the Arizona Cardinals, have released Steve Smith and will likely lose Brandon LaFell. The New England Patriots, who badly need a receiver, could get involved as well.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the San Francisco 49ers are also interested in Nicks.
Patriots free-agent WR Julian Edelman is scheduled to visit the 49ers on Friday, per source. SF also interested in Giants WR Hakeem Nicks.

Nicks had 56 receptions for 896 yards and zero touchdowns last season.
