The world champion Seattle Seahawks may be very, very close to making their top-ranked defense even that much more dangerous as Ian Rapoport is reporting that the team is very close to striking a deal with free agent defensive end Henry Melton Saturday evening, and something could be locked up shortly.

Having already brought back Michael Bennett during the free agency this past week, Melton would give that vaunted Seattle defense yet another good pass-rushing threat off the edge as they look to mold their recent success into the latest version of an NFL dynasty.

Where this gets interesting, like Rapoport states, is that Melton has been heavily rumored to land with the Dallas Cowboys, and if something gets done tonight between he and Seattle, he won’t even make it to visit with Jerry Jones and company this week.

But, Seattle loves defense, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Melton in Seattle come Monday, at least.
