After flirting with a couple of teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, and even visiting the San Francisco 49ers, wide receiver Julian Edelman decided to re-sign with the New England Patriots on Saturday.

After the news broke, Edelman quickly showed his excitement about returning to the Patriots.

Edelman’s facebook page also showed his excitement. It featured a huge picture of Edelman with the word “HOMECOMING” on it and also said “Aaaaand….we’re back. #GOPATS.”

Re-signing Edelman was obviously a move the Patriots had to make. After losing Aaron Hernandez to prison, Rob Gronkowski to several injuries, Wes Welker to the Denver Broncos and Danny Amendola, who the team signed to replace Welker last year, to injuries, Edelman was the only reliable target for Tom Brady.

Although Edelman has shown flashes as both a wide receiver and return man after switching from quarterback, the position he played at Kent State, but no one could have imagined he could be as productive as he was in 2013. He made 105 catches for 1,056 yards and six touchdowns.
