When the Carolina Panthers decided to part ways with veteran wide receiver Steve Smith this week, there were a lot of fans of the team that got very emotional. Smith has been the face of their franchise for years. But one little fan in particular took the news really hard when he was told by his father what had happened.

Really hard.

Okay, now, where do we start with this one?

First off, as far as the youngster taking a swipe at his father, you know the dad probably could have explained it in better terms that he could understand. He basically made it seem like the Panthers thought Steve Smith was a pile of garbage. (Okay, maybe some of us do too, but still, come on, don’t tell the kid that).

However, with that being said, if he wants to be a sports fan like the rest of us for the entirety of his life, he’s going to have to learn to deal with disappointment from time to time.

But, he shouldn’t be ashamed of crying about it, neither, because even us grown adults do too sometimes. Admit it.
