2014 NFL Draft Rumors: Teddy Bridgewater meeting with Minnesota Vikings

Although they’ve re-signed Matt Cassel, the Minnesota Vikings may still be in search of a long-term answer at the quarterback position. Since the departure of Brett Favre, stability at the position has definitely been a concern. So, possibly in the hopes of solving that issue, the team is meeting on Sunday with one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft, Teddy Bridgewater.

In this upcoming draft in May, the Vikings currently hold the eighth pick in the event, and some have them slated to take Johnny Manziel, seeing as most expect Bridgewater to be off the board by then to either the Jaguars or the Texans.

Which brings up the next scenario. If the Vikings are impressed enough with Bridgewater after the meeting on Sunday and then following his Pro Day on Monday, would they trade up to select the former Louisville Cardinals star?

Anything is possible.

He wont make it past the Raiders… But if he does fall you gotta grab him

I dont see them trading up for any of the QB’s ~ None are worth the cost it would take to move up and they all come with huge question marks ~ Bridgewater want last till the 8th pick IMHO but they are wise to cover all their bases just in case ~ Before FA started I didn’t see the Vikings drafting a QB before the 2nd round ~ But now who knows ~ It might be that I have huge question marks about the top 4 QB’s yet they might be just fine ~ Great offseason so far plus they are still after Henry Melton so it doesnt look like FA is over with even if they dont sign Melton and they have talked to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie even though signing him is a long shot ~

Seem like the Vikings are in the mod to make one more good signing before the draft ~ Hopefully they get their man ~

Wish there was a good left OG in FA they could have signed ~ I will be happy with whoever they pick as long as its the BPA If they plan to ride AP’s back again this year to set up the offense then I wouldn’t get upset with them drafting one of the top OT’s at #8 if he could play OG well to great ~ Then he would be on board when Loadholt’s contract runs out ~ Plus if Kalil doesn’t show improvement they would have the man for the job already on the roster with some playing time under his belt ~ That being said if they did draft a QB I wouldn’t be upset if they draft a OG in the 2nd round ~ But I get the feeling the Vikings are not done with looking for players who can play defense at the top of the draft ~

I have not felt this good about a Vikings offseason in a long time ~ Most of it has to do about the coaching staff ~ I believe we are going to see improvement throughout the whole roster ~ However I hate the though of C. Johnson as the starting left OG ~ A super talented RB such as AP shouldn’t be doing as much dancing at the LOS as he did last year ~
