NFL Free Agency: Denver Broncos say they were not aware of Emmanuel Sanders' having agreement with Chiefs

But if they did know, it’s not like they were going to admit it, right?

Emmanuel Sanders signed with the Denver Broncos on Saturday night. On its own that would not be a huge story.

Controversy followed, however, as the Kansas City Chiefs claimed to have an agreement in place with Sanders’ agent Steve Weinberg. That has stirred up quite the storm of discontent as rival executives shake their heads at Weinberg and his apparently shady practices.

Little if any of these accusations have been directed at the Denver Broncos, but they will still be sure to make it clear publicly that they knew nothing of an agreement with another team for the free agent wide receiver.

With these teams already gunning for each other in the same division, it will be interesting to see if hard feelings emerge or if the controversy will continue to be directed primarily at Weinberg.

Your face is entertaining! Please remove Horse Face’s balls from your chin thanks!

      • Deadmeat

Super Bowl was more entertaining. How bad was you crying?

        • Josh Stclair

No crying just shell shock… But this offseason is making up for it… Ahahahaha

          • Deadmeat

How so? You couldn’t win with a record setting offense. How do you think you can win with overpaid free agents?

          • Josh Stclair

Dude are you really gonna say adding Demarcus ware, aqib talib, and Tj ward to our defense isn’t gonna help make us a better team…

  • Joe Flamingo

    Superman be crazy.

  • Matt Youngberg

I hope manning gets hurt on the first play of the 2014 season . Haha

    • Brian Dempsey

So do I. I used to respect Manning, but this BS of trying to give Manning a going-away present in the form of a gift-wrapped Lombardi trophy by the league is getting ridiculous.

    • Travis Forsyth

There is a huge possiblity that first game be against us…..

  • Nick

I’d take a $75k fine a blow this clown up. Think of it like beaning a baseball player after he breaks one of the unwritten rules.

  • tazer15

Damn its just fitting something like this would happen. You would think as Chiefs fans we would be numb to it by now.Ive hated Denver as bad as I hate Dallas for a long long time. This just makes matter worse lets hope they hit a nerve with Dorsey and he makes a couple splashes here now.Hear that Dorsey get at it!!!!!!

  • Chris Tarrants

Karma will come back and bite everyone involved in this fiasco! The Chiefs are going to be drafting a younger team, and adding blue collar guys who work hard to prove themselves, meanwhile the Broncos and going to have their own geriatrics ward inside of milehigh. What could go wrong with that?

    • DXW

      Geriatrics ward?

Other than Manning, Denver has a very young team. Champ is gone, and the oldest free agent signing they’ve had so fare is Ware, and he’s only 30. Wade and Talib are still in their 20′s.

      • Chris Tarrants

” Denver is a young team if you take out the old guys from the equation” that’s what I read

        • DXW

You should probably work on your reading comprehension skills then, Chris.

      • berttheclock

Ware is 31 and had his worst year, last season, with injuries the last two years. T J Ward is only 27, but, Talib, at 28, has had injuries the past two seasons and has only shown bursts of production at times. He keeps saying he has healed, but, with the Pats, one game he shuts down Graham, another game he lets wide outs get loose. Looks as though he is trying to play through injuries.

        • DXW

Ha! Yeah, terrible free agency moves on the part of the Broncos, just terrible. What in the world was John Elway thinking signing these overrated, washed up, injury prone players to the team?

    • DieHard_ChiefsFan

Agreed, Karma will come back to bite Sanders and his agent. 1st game he will be out for the season and then no one gets the bonus money and Denver is down a receiver.

      • berttheclock

Pun intended as he is going to present a “pins and needles” problem for the Broncos.

  • Dusty Murray

Hit sanders on the feet as much as possible. Reality is that pins break and screws give.

  • Hawthorne

Any player who has this agent better drop him now. After a stunt like this no GM is going to deal with him (the agent) ever again.

    • berttheclock

Actually, the NFLPA should start steps, immediately, to have his certification as an agent revoked. He represents two current NFL players, Eric Harper of the Raiders and Jordan Pugh of the Saints, in addition to Sanders. He, also, represents two other players, Brandon Smith of the Bills, who was on their taxi squad last season and Ben Bass of the Cowboys who went on IR in 2012. As this was a power move by Weinberg to add more clients, the NFLPA should cut him off at the knees ASAP.

  • berttheclock

Yep, and I believe Comcast when they say they have no plans to raise my bundle rates.
