On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a deal with Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Brandon Weeden, signing the former first round pick to a two-year contract.

The moves seems fairly low risk because the Cowboys barely used any cap space to sign the veteran.

Weeden is insurance in case Kyle Orton decides to retire, but according to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the team could have other plans for Weeden.

With all of the controversy that always surrounds current Cowboys’ starter Tony Romo, statements like that will only add fuel to the fire.

Weeden completed 141 of 267 passes for 1,731 yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions in eight games in 2013.
