NFL Rumors: Kenny Britt’s Patriots visit over, Redskins up next

Tennessee Titans’ wide receiver Kenny Britt has been in Foxborough, Massachusetts visiting the New England Patriots overt the weekend.

Although they have already re-signed Julian Edelman and agreed to a deal with former Carolina Panthers’ wide receiver Brandon LaFell, the Patriots hoped to sign Britt to a deal before he left the team to take another visit.

According to the NFL Network’s Albert Breer, that did not happen and Britt will now head to the nation’s capital to visit with the Washington Redskins.

Britt was originally drafted with the 30th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Titans. The former Rutgers Scarlet Knights’ star had immediate success, catching 42 passes for 701 yards and three touchdowns. A year later, he again had 42 catches, but scored nine touchdowns and played in four fewer games.

However, his off-the-field issues have continued to plague him and it all culminated in an 11-catch, 96-yard season in 2013.

Didn’t I read somewhere Skins should stay away from him? Maybe take too much to sign him and should use money on defense, not offense? I kinda agree with that. Gotta say I’m not too impressed with Allen and Gruden so far. Guess have to see how this year plays out to make final judgement. I have my doubts so far though. HTTR

April what hasn’t been impressive about Allen and Gruden so far? They’ve successfully avoided the “shiny” free agents that always cost more than the returns they bring. They’ve added depth in some positions of need, and still have money to add more. Finally, they’ve resigned a couple of guys at good prices. I’d say this is the most encouraging offseason we’ve had in years…the secondary still needs to be addressed but I can’t complain about any of the moves so far.

That’s exactly what I’m not impressed with..no signing of what everybody said was our greatest weakness.. Secondry.. Just a feeling I have.. I’m not dogging them by any means..as I said, will wait for final judgement.. Just gave my opinion.. That’s all.. HTTR

Britt would be wise to reconsider. No team in the NFL resurrects careers line the Patriots.
