As soon as Phil Jackson’s name came up in regard to the New York Knicks, Steve Kerr’s name came up as well.
Kerr, who is currently an analyst with TNT, was formally the General Manager of Phoenix Suns.
Jackson is indeed going to pursue Kerr as the next Knicks’ head coach, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
"They’re going to implement a system here – the triangle offense – and Jackson plans to pursue Steve Kerr to come coach the Knicks. Jackson had convinced Kerr to come to Seattle as his coach, league sources told Yahoo Sports, only to have those plans foiled when a purchase agreement with the Sacramento Kings fell apart."
Jackson was going to be involved in the sale of the Sacramento Kings, who were then going to move to Seattle.
Kerr played for Jackson with the Chicago Bulls from 1993 to 1998.
Kerr has recently called the coaching rumors “awkward” and has not indicated to TNT that he is leaving.
