The Oakland Raiders hold the fifth pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, though, it’s not known what the team plans to do with the selection.

May they draft a quarterback with the pick? Some rumors have hinted they may opt to look elsewhere and roll with a ‘stop-gap’ quarterback for the time being while others have suggested they may decide to take the plunge and draft one of the available high profile signal callers like Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater.

But there might be another quarterback attracting their eye if you read between the lines.

According to Jimmy Durkin (via Tim Kawakami), Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie is attending the San Jose State Spartans Pro-Day which will featured quarterback David Fales, the same Fales who was recited to SJSU by current Oakland Raiders quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo.

"Note: Raiders QB coach John DeFilippo helped recruit David Fales to SJSU. RT @Jimmy_Durkin Reggie McKenzie is here at San Jose State."

Does that mean anything? Well, if you read between the lines it’s certainly intriguing but by no stretch is their any confirmation that McKenzie has interest in Fales. That said, the connection between the two parties is certainly worth noting.
