The Texas Rangers got Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in the rule 5 draft. While he was a two sport athlete at one point in his career, he was presented another opportunity though he wasn’t interested.

“[Rangers G.M. Jon Daniels] asked me if I’m trying to go Bo Jackson? I thought about it before, I’m not going to lie.  But no.  I mean I’m just focused on football,” Wilson said.

Well, Jackson himself is giving Wilson some advice.

Stick to what got (Wilson) in the headlines, not baseball,” Jackson said, via Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com.

Jackson isn’t even sure he could do it today.

“Twenty-five or 30 years ago when I did it, I’m not trying to say anything negative about other athletes, but the talent pool wasn’t that deep,” Jackson said. “In this day in age, with all the high-tech training, computer-engineered workouts and the proper food and diet, if you try to concentrate on two sports, I guarantee you’re going to ride the bench in both because the talent is that deep. Stick to whatever sport you’re comfortable with and let everything else go.”
