With Phil Jackson coming to town to rescue the New York Knicks, many fans are wondering just what the limits of his new relationship with the team is. The most successful championship head coach in NBA history has taken a front office role, but many believe there is a

Knicks beat writer Michael A. Scotto passed along a quote from owner James Dolan which dashed the idea that Jackson would ever double as president sand head coach of the Knicks.

He may end up wanting to get back in the coaching game at some point, but he can literally run the Knicks from Los Angeles where if he was the coach he’d be on a rigorous schedule that required 14-hour days and early mornings. He will still have to work hard as president of the Knicks, but his duties will allow him to live within his own schedule as opposed to one presented to him as head coach.
