NFL Rumors: Michael Vick will visit the Jets
By Mike Dyce
Philadelphia Eagles free agent quarterback Michael Vick is still on the market and it has been kind of quiet for him. That is all about to change as Vick heads to New York to meet with the Jets.
From NJ.com:
"Vick is planning on visiting the Jets this weekend, a source close to the situation has told NJ.com. This will be Vick’s first official visit, and could be his last if all goes well. And the pressure could be on the Jets to land a free agent, given a methodical and fruitless approach that has left fans impatient and critical of general manager John Idzik — while the Giants have been on a shopping spree."
The issue of course here is that Vick could wind up in the back up role again and he wants to be a starter. Immediately Vick might be the better option for the Jets but they’d likely look to continue to keep molding second-year quarterback Geno Smith. They might be seeing Vick as a potential candidate to mentor and help groom Smith, so it all comes down to wether Vick is willing to do so or still trying to find a job as a starter in this league.
