The Denver Broncos had arguably the best offense in all the NFL last season, with quarterback Peyton Manning re-writing the record book. Broncos executive vice president of football operations/general manager John Elway thinks the Broncos can still improve their run game though.

“No question, we have to be better in the run game,” said Elway, via ESPN. “… To keep our personality, our approach on offense, but to do better when we do run the ball.”

While the Broncos’ pass offense led the league in yards per game, the ground game was just the league’s 15th best. Still, running back Knowshon Moreno had 1,038 yards rushing and Montee Ball had 559 with half as many carries, certainly not horrible by any means.

Moreno is still a free agent so as of now the Broncos won’t have him next season. Denver might be relying on Ronnie Hillman and Ball to carry the load going forward.
