Depending on who you believe, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly may or may not have informed wide receiver DeSean Jackson he will not be traded this season.

Of course, for every report suggesting such, there are two suggesting that Jackson is available.

We know the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots made trade inquiries about Jackson, but nothing came of them. But could something come from the Carolina Panthers if they were to make such an inquiry? It’s not known yet if the Panthers will make such an attempt, but ESPN’s Ed Werder (via Evan Silva) hinted that Carolina could entertain the idea of trading for the flamboyant wideout.

"Ed Werder also said on SportsCenter that the #Panthers “might entertain the idea” of trying to trade for DeSean Jackson."

The Panthers have what could only be considered as a laughable stock of wide receivers, so they’re certainly in need of such. That said – Jackson’s contract is rather hefty and that’s something the Panthers would need to consider before making such a move.

As of now, it’s only speculation but the idea does make some sense, at least for Carolina.
