After an entire regular season in which we marveled at the outstanding play of Duke’s Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood, as well as wondered what kind of an impact they could make in the NCAA Tournament, just like that, it’s over. On Friday, Parker, Hood and Duke were upset in the Second Round by the Mercer Bears, officially leaving their future status up in the air.

Parker–a freshman–and Hood–a sophomore– could very well be on their way to test the NBA Draft this June, but as Chad Ford points out, their stock may have taken a bit of a hit with scouts after the lass-than-flattering performance on Friday.

While it’s crazy to think that some would judge both players on just one game, they’re definitely going to have to show some better efforts in their workouts to sway their opinions. It could also just be a heat of the moment type deal, and once the scouts watch tape of both, their minds could change.

But for now, the lasting impression they have of both players with their early exit certainly isn’t good.
