The Buffalo Bills are looking at plenty of options with the No. 9 overall pick in the Draft this May, but one player could throw all the strategies they’ve been setting up out of whack. The Bills could use some help on defense and getting a top wide receiver target like Mike Evans or Sammy Watkins is an attractive idea, but so too is the thought of top tackle prospect Jake Matthews falling to them at No. 9 overall.

According to The Buffalo News, the Bills are keeping an eye on Matthews and if he falls, it won’t be any farther than the ninth pick in the draft.

Per The Buffalo News:

"Son of Hall-of-Famer Bruce Matthews is projected to go in the top 10 picks, and maybe as high as No. 2. There’s a chance he could fall to No. 9, in which case he would be hard for the Buffalo Bills to pass up. Matthews is about as safe a pick as there is in the draft."

Getting targets for E.J. Manuel to throw to or defensive help to keep him in the game are not bad routes to go in the draft, but keeping him healthy and protected is a lot more key.

Matthews could go in the top-5 and he could slide to the Bills based on what happens with the skill position players. It’s a scenario to watch as the Bills would luck out and get the guy they want thanks to teams chasing the likes of Johnny Manziel and Jadeveon Clowney.
