Free agent defensive end Jared Allen is apparently back home, discussing his playing options with his wife and family.

So where is he going to play come the 2014 NFL season? That destination remains up in the air, but Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that Allen is considering three teams right now and retirement is still a potential option.

"Tidbit 1 on Jared Allen: He’s considering 3 places now, with walking away still an option. Should know by the weekend what his future isTidbit 2 on Jared Allen: The 2nd meeting with Seattle was because key members of the organization weren’t present for meeting 1, on a Sunday"

We know that Allen has obviously visited the Seattle Seahawks and that he’s already visited the Dallas Cowboys, but those are the only two teams we know about at this point – so there is a third team out there that has seemingly crept into the picture.

There were rumors when free agency broke that Allen might be interested in playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but that appears dead after the Bucs made alternate moves to improve their defensive line.

Rumors have also suggested the Oakland Raiders could have interest in Allen, though it’s not known if they’re the third team he is considering.
