The Los Angeles Lakers are going to ha ve a decision to make this offseason when it comes to the future of forward Pau Gasol. While there are some who want to see the big man back, Gasol himself has seemed intrigued by the idea of finally getting away from the Lakers and that may bring him back to the place where his whole career started.

According to Sam Amick from USA Today, the Memphis Grizzlies remain interested in signing Gasol, but the shape of their plan has changed a bit since the trade deadline. While back then it was assumed the Grizzlies would make a run at signing Gasol, Amick reports they’ll only do so if Zach Randolph is lost in free agency.

"But a person with knowledge of the Grizzlies thinking said Randolph will be the focus of their free agency affection and that the interest they have in Pau Gasol would be secondary."

The secondary interest in Gasol likely takes them out of the running, as that window where they’re trying to keep Randolph could give another team a chance to sign Gasol. We won’t know until the summer, but the market for Gasol is already starting to cool off.
